Read if you’re Malaysian, read even when you’re not

Honk if you’re Malaysian by Lydia Teh.

I don’t remember when I found Lydia but I think it was when I was hopping from one blog to another and then another and then VIOLA…I found Lydia Teh. I commented in her blog and she commented on my blog and TA DA…we become blog net-friends. But we have a lot more in common than I would have thought. We’re Malaysian and we’re writers, we’re moms, we’re women, we’re aging, we’re going to die one fine day…..erm….eh, where is this heading lah?

Anyway, I went to 1 Utama today with the kids because they wanted to play in Kidzsports and then Starship Galactica. What’s a devoted mother to do but to comply? I shamelessly took advantage of the fact that my VERY NICE brother-in-law was there to saunter to the book store and there it was…Lydia Teh.

Hui-yor…very choon hor? Who’s this leng-lui?

I once asked her for an authographed copy of the book over email (when she was still writing the book) and she said she will give it to me when I write nice-nice things about her wor….so…. hee hee hee….(just joking….but Lydia, where got fair lah. I buy already, can still get autographed copy or not?)

But honestly, in support of her effort and tremendous talent, I bought her book. No need autograph lah. Never mind. Eh, I intentionally read her book everywhere I went in 1 Utama. I saw a lot of curious strangers staring at this lady walking and reading at the same time. My guess is that they should have caught sight of the book cover. I also laughed out loud a couple of times, so, I must have drawn quite a few curious stares along the way.

So, Lydia, this if for you. And for Malaysians out there, be like me….support Malaysian products. Judging from the first chapters I’ve read, it is definitely a fun book to read because it’s so….Malaysian.

Full review later lah.

But just in case you don’t believe I actually bought the book, here’s proof. Sorry for sorry-looking picture (Eh, I very brave in posting this picture ok? Almost time to sleep, you know)

Sorry pic. But proof enough.

So, don’t just sit there. Go buy….faster…go buy!

Challen1 : If I live in Malaysia, I osso brave to ask Lydia for a free book what but I know postage is expensive to UK so I didn’t ask lor. This is call, thoughtfulness before selfishness. Kekekek…so what is your answer?

Lydia, if I had your book with me, I will also take a photo what. Even better than Marsha’s lah! I will put the book in front of my face, so that people will see the book without giving attention to my face first…..hahahah…..(another challenge for Marsha).
