Three weeks???!!!

Damn it! Mother Nature sure knows how to play jokes on us human beings every year end. Everytime we celebrate Christmas there’s a catastrophe and She doesn’t seem to like people in the Asian region very much, you know. Everytime something huge hits, it hits us. Luckily this time, only 2 people died (not to say that their lives are not precious but compared to the tens of thousands of people who perished the tsunami hit in 2004…) but she’s wrecking havoc in my life as well! I might as well DIE I tell you!!

Tuesday – suddenly no Internet connection. Cut off from the world except via email because I use gmail and apparently, good ole Gmail’s server for us Malaysian users is either in Malaysia itself or it’s nearby

Wednesday – Painfully painfully PAINFULLY slow connection, it’s like having your toe nails pulled out one by one in slow motion!!! Took me SO long to upload and download something that I had a million browsers open for some programs and also my Firefox too….MULTIPLE tabs were open. But it didn’t help. In fact, it slowed down even more because of that.

Thursday – A little bit faster…maybe about 2 seconds faster than yesterday. Took me one whole day to upload 2 articles for my client. And it was backlogged work from yesterday as well. Others are going to start screaming at me soon.

But, look, is it my fault?? Help!!! And according to some, it’s going to take as long as three weeks. I cannot wait 3 weeks lah….Petronas Twin Towers, here I come.  The earthquake really shattered my work place (the Internet) and I don’t know what to do.

Sigh.

Marsha…you are not alone. Your job is damn tough and pushes you to the limit daily…it’s still a miracle your not insane…yet! hehehe….

It may take forever to upload thingsc now…but it’s still better than being forced to be totally off-line. Can you imagine if Malaysia is hit by another Tsunami and there’s no access to your clients on-line for one month?? NOt even a single mail?? That’s horrifying, yes? And your income will be GREATLY affected, yes?

Sure….that’s life… We cant win all the time. If we can…then we are gods liao lor!

What can we do? Well…nothing much in times like this…except pray to God. I’m serious.

Humans can only do so much only. Hey…these are humans wor. Humans got limit lah.

But to have faith in God…that’s a wiser move. You dont see it now…but things that are not seen does not mean it’s not there. Example ‘air’…as in udara. Air is not seen…but it’s there, isn’t it?

Pray this : “Lord Jesus, I’m affected greatly by the current situation with my work. Please help those involved in re-connecting the servers in China, Taiwan and whichever countries affected too to speed up the process. In yoru name I pray. Amen”.

Pray that daily and believe that. NOthing to lose. You go girl!

Marsha, maybe it is a good reason to have a break lei? Sometimes things like this happen so that you have no choice but to go shopping (therapeutic) at Twin Towers! :) Oh, were you going to Twin Towers to use their internet?

aceone, ya lor!! I was so really to give streamyx a good tiowing of their lives when I started dialing 1300889515…and then there’s an automated message that told me that the cables were damaged cause of the quake and I went…’oh. oops’ hee hee hee…luckily, no customer service prople answered, if not, they will buta-buta kena from me.

killerguy, maybe this is, indeed a blessing in disguise but can you imagine the kind of work that I have to do when the lines are returned to normal. You think I am given a break? No way, man. I will have to do loads to catch up with the backlog, man!

Judy, I was going to jump off the Twin Towers’ 88th floor, dear. :-) Shopping? Where got mood to shop now?
